Rain in Rwanda can be heavy and persistent, falling in downpours or accompanying thunderstorms.
DRY SEASONS: June to mid-September/October & December to February
A short dry season.
Rwanda’s high altitude provides cool nights and a pleasant, tropical highland climate throughout the year with plenty of rain. Rainfall often comes during the night or
early morning. The average temperature is 15°C, although humidity can be high.
WILDLIFE
Volcanoes National Park is home to more than one third of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world. Other key species include golden monkeys, forest elephant and buffalo, bushbuck, and over 600 bird species.
